Rio games are expected to generate $ 200 million in tourism

The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro should generate $ 200 million in extra expenses of tourists between July and September. The estimate was made by the Central Bank and published on Tuesday (26).

Tulio Maciel, head of the Economic Department of the institution, explained that this projection of additional revenue takes into account what happened and was recorded in the last three Olympics. "That's the recipe only foreign travel expenses," he noted.

Maciel recalled that the Rio de Janeiro is already a tourist town and receives large number of foreign monthly. "Our estimate is foreign spending in the country, considering all of them, including delegations. The city of Rio already has a steady stream of tourists revenue regardless of the Olympics, "he said.

Employment during the Olympics
