Encouraging innovation part of renewed Brazil’s growth agenda

The Minister Marcos Pereira received on Tuesday, a document with the main demands of important entities to encourage investment in innovation in Brazil. They call for the implementation of protection mechanisms for investors, less bureaucratic procedures, tax incentives and create co-investment funds.

The demands were presented by representatives of the Brazilian Association of Venture Investment Funds and Private Equity (ABVCAP); the National Association for Research and Development of Innovative Companies (Anpei); the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec); Dynamo, joint movement in the area of ​​public policies focused on the theme of ecosystem startups; and Angels Brazil - funding entity investment angel supporting innovation entrepreneurship.

Minister Marcos Pereira said it considers the legitimate agenda. "The issue of cutting red tape is one of our priorities today," he said. The minister also said that guidelines that benefit the innovation sector are already part of the internal discussions in the government. "Incentives for innovative investments are part of the issues that the ministry will present to President Michel Temer, within the inter-ministerial agenda to push forward the resumption of growth, which should be completed soon," said the minister.
