The Ministry of Education (MEC) announced on Monday (1), the release of R $ 171.2 million for refurbishment and construction of basic education schools. The amount will be allocated for the execution of 1,725 works of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC - Education), in the 27 states of the country.
The announcement was made by Minister of Education Mendonça Filho during the opening of FNDE Local Solutions. "Our priority is that the MEC may be closer to the municipalities working to ensure the care of children and young people in Brazil," said the minister.
Of the total amount released to basic education, US $ 142.18 million is for the 1,725 works in all states. The other R $ 28.92 million are costing 87 works linked to the Articulated Action Plan (PAR). Resources are for reforms as building schools, classrooms, day care centers and courts.
"We will honor the commitments made by MEC and then we will start the new works," said Mendonça Filho. He also pointed out that were used technical criteria in the selection of beneficiaries municipalities, prioritizing work in progress, and especially those who are close to their end, to have their guaranteed completion.
The event
The "FNDE Local Solutions" is an action promoted by the Ministry of Education through the National Fund for Education Development (ENDF), which aims to provide institutional care individualized educational managers, to enable them and resolve any disputes regarding the implementation of the various FNDE programs in the region.
Created in 2015, the ENDF Local Solutions has provided more than 7,800 consultations in 25 states.

Since taking over the Ministry of Education in May, the current administration has already released funds for basic education in the order of R $ 1.4 billion.Programs that received more funding were the National School Feeding Program (R $ 663 million) and the Direct Money in School Program (R $ 357 million).
In all, the current administration has already released more than five billion in funds, including transfers to the CAP, for the implementation of programs and actions of basic education, higher and technology, plus assessments, agreements and administrative expenses.
