The Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur) yesterday launched the Trip Planner application on Facebook. This allows foreign travelers to gain access to tourism services and providers in Brazil. The digital communication tool was presented to 25,000 tourism professionals from Brazil and abroad during the 40th Edition of the Tourism Fair of the Americas (ABAV-2012) which began on Wednesday (November 24) and continues until Friday (November 26), at the Riocentro Exhibition Center in Rio de Janeiro.
According to Embratur, the Trip Planner application is interconnected through Facebook to other digital tools that promote the dissemination of Brazilian tourist attractions and services abroad. In doing so, both the tourist and the entrepreneur or agent in the sector may obtain information on Brazilian tourism services and providers before traveling to the country. The application is linked to the new Brazil Brand Channel on YouTube, in partnership with Google.
According to Thiago Diniz, Embratur Digital Communication Manager, the application “arose from the need to create a simple, easy to use tool both for the user seeking information as well as those in the tourist trade, who can market their products and services.” The Trip Planner leverages the Cadastur (the registration system for individuals and companies in the tourism sector) database and content from Trip Advisor, a consulting resource for international travelers.
