Carlos Da Costa, Special Secretary for Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness at the Ministry of Economy, reaffirmed on Wednesday (18/9) the government's commitment to improve the business environment for the country to continue to generate employment.

"If we do not make the necessary reforms and start reversing the scenario of increased public spending and bureaucracy for those who want to create jobs, Brazil will not grow again," said the secretary as he attended the IV National Forum in the morning. of Commerce, promoted by the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL), in Brasilia.

“What creates jobs is increased productivity and competitiveness. These are healthy companies with prospects that will make Brazil better, ”he said.

The secretary explained that the government's productivity agenda has five pillars: Simplifica, which removes bureaucratic obstacles from companies' daily lives; Brazil 4.0, which promotes the modernization of companies through the adoption of new technologies; Pro-Markets, which encourages the opening of new markets through competition and business competition; o Emprego Mais, for the professional qualification of workers; and Pró-Infra, designed to stimulate private investment in infrastructure in Brazil.

“We have started a new path towards competitiveness and productivity to create jobs in Brazil. We are working for this new and modern Brazil we all dream of. A country driven by entrepreneurship. A Brazil that has always existed but now needs to flourish, ”he said.

The Forum
The fourth edition of the National Trade Forum promotes the exchange of information between the entities that represent Brazilian retail and are part of the National Union of Trade and Services Entities.

The National Confederation of Shopkeepers acts institutionally on behalf of 500,000 companies. Together, they represent more than 5% of Brazilian GDP, generate 4.6 million jobs and move R $ 340 billion per year.
