The Minister Gilberto Carvalho (Secretary General) arrived on Tuesday (3/26) in Tunis/Tunisia, where he participates in the World Social Forum 2013 (WSF), a civil society initiative that aims to discuss and formulate alternatives for global agenda.
“The main objective of our participation is to show the Brazilian experience of ruling with social participation," said Carvalho, who attended the official opening of the event on the campus of the University of El Manar.
On Wednesday (3/27), considered the "Day of Arab Spring" - the minister participates in the opening session of the Forum to talk about democracy and social movements. At the end of the day, at the Residence of the Brazil's Ambassador in Tunisia, the minister will meet the International Council of World Social Forum comprised by representatives of social organizations of each participating country in the meeting.
On Thursday (3/28) morning, Carvalho participates in an activity organized by Foundation Perseus Abramo, Foundation Maurício Grabois and Forum of Sao Paulo to discuss the challenges of African left, Latin American and Caribbean region and the social struggles in Africa and Latin America. It is also scheduled on this day a meeting with the Minister of Human Rights and Transitional Justice in Tunisia, Samir Dilou, who acts as spokesman of the government and is responsible for the dialogue with civil society.
