Electricity
Initiative begins four days before daylight saving time comes into effect on Sunday (15)
With the intention of encouraging the conscious use of electric energy, the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) launched an awareness campaign on energy use on Wednesday (11). It starts four days before DST takes effect. Practice created in 1985, it will start at 0h this Sunday (15).
Rational use of energy is a relevant theme for the preservation of national resources and the capacity for renewal of the planet. "If consumption and production standards remain at the current level, in less than 50 years it will take two Earth planets to meet the water, energy and food needs of the world's population," the regulator said in a statement on its website .
Faced with this warning, Aneel produced materials with consumption tips to avoid the waste of electricity. The recommendations range from taking advantage of sunlight to switching off electronic gadgets at bedtime. The campaign can be accessed through the agency's page on Facebook and Twitter .
Watches
As of Sunday, clocks should be advanced in an hour to take advantage of the use of natural light. Valid until February 18, the norm applies to the South, Southeast and Midwest regions.
