Public policy
Measure gives greater synergy between public and private institutions. Plan to draw strategies until 2022
To expand Brazil's participation in international trade in agricultural products, the federal government has created a new action plan called the Strategy for Opening, Expansion and Promotion in the Brazilian Agribusiness International Market 2019-2022.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, this plan will receive contributions from the public and private sectors to elaborate proposals for market access, non-tariff negotiations and promotion of Brazilian agribusiness products.
"For the first time in the ministry, a methodology is proposed for establishing a medium-term policy to optimize international agricultural negotiations," explains the Secretary for International Relations of Agribusiness, Odilson Luiz Ribeiro e Silva.
Greater predictability
The ministry, in a note, estimated that there will be more predictability in the medium term. The expectation is that this strategy will create greater synergy with other institutions that work with the goal of expanding markets to Brazil. The plan also aims to expand the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in export.
