Increase occurred in industry, services and construction
The Getulio Vargas Foundation's Business Confidence Index (ICE) rose by 0.6 point in July to 84.8 points on a scale of zero to 200 points. Disclosed on Tuesday (1 st), the result reveals part of the recovery of the loss of 2.0 points of the previous month.
According to the foundation, the result shows that the loss of confidence resulting from the political crisis triggered from May has been relatively small so far. "Business expectations have become less optimistic, proving the sensitivity to the levels of economic uncertainty, but the indicators that portray the degree of satisfaction of the companies with the current situation of the business have maintained the tendency of gradual increase", analyzes in note Aloisio Campelo Jr ., Superintendent of Public Statistics of FGV / Ibre.
Entrepreneurs are more confident in the present moment, and this is demonstrated by the 0.7 point increase in the Current Situation Index, which reached 80.3 points. The valuation on the future, measured by the Expectations Index, remained stable at 91.7 points, the same level as in the previous month.
Among the four business sectors surveyed, there were increases in industry (1.3 points), services (1 point) and construction (0.4 points). Trade was the only segment that had confidence dip between June and July: -2.3 points.
