Trade balance is positive in the third week of June

Exports

Sales of basic items and manufactured goods advanced against the second week of the month and boosted exports

Brazilian exports surpassed imports in the third week of June. According to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, the country recorded a positive trade balance of US $ 1.36 billion.

The result for the period was the difference between exports of US $ 3.86 billion and imports of US $ 2.50 billion. Between the second and third weeks of the month, average sales abroad grew 5.6%.

This growth was driven by exports of basic products (+ 17.3%), mainly due to sales of crude oil, chicken and beef, iron ore, leaf tobacco and soybeans.

Manufactured

The manufactured items also presented positive performance, with growth of 3.7%. This breakthrough was determined by sales of passenger cars, taps, valves and parts, earthmoving machinery and equipment, wire rod, iron and steel bars and tractors.
