Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises were a prominent destination among loans from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), in the first half of 2017, according to a performance report released on Tuesday (18) by the development bank .

Out of a total of R $ 33.5 billion disbursed by the institution in the period, 40% went to small and medium-sized enterprises. It was R $ 13.3 billion in loans in almost 173 thousand operations in the first half of this year. According to the bulletin, it is the largest share of the segment in the bank releases in six years.

"The strongest growth in this year's participation is linked to a series of BNDES initiatives to broaden and simplify the access of this segment to its credit, one of the priorities of the Bank's new operational policies, launched in January," the institution said in a statement. notice.

Among the factors that contributed to the result was the growth in working capital credit line Progeren, which totaled R $ 3.3 billion in disbursements in the first six months of the year. Finame, another line of the bank, approved almost R $ 11 billion in credit, increasing the productivity of companies.
