Shivering Beauties in Lettuce-Leaf Bikinis to Give Away $1,000 in Vegan Wings in Run-Up to Super Bowl

Seattle – Just in time for Super Bowl XLIX, PETA’s “Lettuce Ladies” are coming to downtown Seattle, where they’ll wear little more than strategically placed lettuce leaves as they distribute delicious free meatless vegan “wings” to passersby. PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—hopes Super Bowl viewers will consider the more than 300 million chickens who will be slaughtered for just this one game, and choose vegan fare.

When:   Wednesday, January 28, 12 p.m.

Where:    At the intersection of Pine Street and Fourth Avenue, Seattle

“Vegan game-day snacks are kind to animals and better for our health—touchdown two-point conversion all around,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “By giving away delicious vegan wings, PETA hopes to turn football fans on to the many cruelty-free snacks available for game day.”

Tasty, healthy, and cruelty-free game-day snacks—which have none of the animal fat or cholesterol found in meat and dairy products—are widely available in grocery stores, and free recipes for delicious Super Bowl fare are available on PETA’s website.
