Higher price falls occurred in the states of Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, of 23.20% and 21.53%, respectively
The price of potatoes dropped in the country's main supply centers in November, due to the large supply of the product. According to data from the 12th Newsletter horticultural Trading Prohort the National Supply Company (Conab) , the largest declines occurred in Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, of 23.20% and 21.53%, respectively.
In the state of Espírito Santo, the cost of food was R $ 1.18 (kg) in the period. In Rio de Janeiro, the value of the potato was recorded at R $ 1.60 (Kg).
According to the bulletin, tomatoes also became cheaper in almost every market in the penultimate month of the year. The exception was Ceasa RJ, which registered an increase of 8.97%. The high is based on the decrease in supply, caused by the rains in the regions that supply the state.
Still, the price of the kilo of the product was R $ 1.86, lower than in the Federal District where, despite the fall of 30.33%, the kilo was marketed for R $ 2.05.
Already the kilo of the carrot was 25.17% more expensive in Greater Vitória (ES), being sold to R $ 1,15. In Fortaleza (CE) and Recife (PE), there was an increase of 4.74% and 2.60% and the kilo was traded at R $ 1.21 and R $ 1.54, respectively. In the other states surveyed, the product was cheaper in November, with the lowest price in Campinas / SP, R $ 0.70 / kg.
High prices
On the other hand, due to climatic reasons, lettuce and onion became more expensive in all the analyzed power stations. In the Federal District, the high came to 92.25% for lettuce and 49.36% for onion.
Even with increase in all markets, the onion keeps prices lower than those practiced in comparison with the same period last year. This is due to increased productivity in the South Region's crops.
Orange also became more expensive because of the low supply and high demand for exports, with increases between 9.92% (SP) and 0.28% (PE). Banana and papaya were also registered in seven of the eight Ceasas analyzed, due to the decrease in the supply of these products. In the Federal District, the banana was sold at R $ 3.82 / kilo, an increase of 14.65%. Already the pound of papaya was R $ 3.14 (high of 4.99%).
The watermelon was the exception of fruits. There was a decrease in seven of the eight supply stations surveyed, with the kilo being sold at R $ 0.69 in Belo Horizonte and R $ 0.77 in Recife.
