Action counts on 8,479 vehicles, distributed in 2,627 police stations, 263 of which are road blocks in São Paulo
The ninth edition of Operation "Safer Highway" began at midnight this Thursday (18), with the commitment of 18,418 military police, together with Federal Highway Police. The operation, which fights crime intensely, has no time to end.
The Operation counts on 8,479 vehicles, distributed in 2,627 places of police action, being 263 points of blockades in the highways, between margins and accesses to the state and federal highways of São Paulo. In addition, 13 helicopters support the operation, through air patrol.
The drivers and vehicles selected in the approaches are being monitored by ostensible policing teams (BAEP, Tactical Force and territorial policing). Also involved in the operation are the impact policing, environmental policing and the Aviation Command.
Afterwards, drivers are instructed to take the breathalyzer test and verify the documentation and conditions of the vehicles for traffic on the highway by the teams of the Highway Policing Command and the Federal Highway Police. In the urban roads of the capital, the control is carried out by the Traffic Policing Command.
The Military Police of the State of São Paulo acts daily to maximize operational results and consequently reduce criminal indicators, increasing the perception of safety of the population and the reduction of deaths and accidents on São Paulo highways.
