Natural gas production reached last June, with a record production of 103.5 million cubic meters per day (m³ / d), an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous month and 8.3% compared to the same month of 2015. The data are from Monitoring Bulletin of Industry and Natural Gas.
In the same period, the total demand in the month increased by 8% to close at 78.3 million cubic meters / day, while the domestic supply remained stable and above 50 million m³ / day.
Already imported gas supply recorded, also in June, 12% increase in gas supply in comparison with the previous month. The increase was recorded both in the Bolivian gas imports and in LNG regasification.
Renewable energy
The month of June also recorded good numbers in the domestic supply matrix of Brazilian electricity, especially for renewable energy to account for almost 83% of the matrix. Among the sources, hydro is the one that stands out with 69.8% share, followed by biomass with 8.6% and 4.5% wind.
When considering the domestic supply of Brazilian energy - all energy required to move the economy - the estimate for 2016 is that renewables will contribute 43.6% indicator above the 41.2% recorded in 2015.
