The Secretary of Innovation and New Business of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), Marcos Vinicius de Souza, participated on Thursday in Sao Paulo, the fair BIO 2016. In Latin America to represent the minister Marcos Pereira at the opening ceremony, the Secretary will participate in the panel "the value of the Bioeconomy", which will discuss the value of biotechnology innovation to society, beyond existing opportunities in Latin America to promote innovation in the sector.
Biotechnology on human health
The director of the Department of Innovative Technologies Department of Innovation and New Business (DETIN) of the MDIC, Rafael Moreira, will participate in the panel "Overview of Critical Trends Affecting the Innovative Industry in Latin America". At the time, the director will discuss advanced topics in the area like regulatory innovation, new models of partnerships and investment for research and development (R & D), digital health, new diagnostic methods and other innovative systems and reference for the Brazilian biotech industry In the health area.
Industrial Biotechnology, food and cosmetics
With two other interests in Latin America BIO 2016, MDIC reaffirms its commitment to bring government closer to the private sector to better support the sector. In industrial biotechnology, the coordinator of the New Business DETIN, Luciano Sousa, will moderate the panel, "Biorefinery Scale-Up Challenges", with the participation of BNDES and Axens executives, Amyris and Raizen. In the biodiversity assets use area, the Coordinator of the Biotechnology Center of the Amazon, Adrian Pohlit, will participate in the panel "Food & Cosmetic Ingredients Boosted by Biotechnology" with Natura executives, Beraca and L'Oreal.
BIO Latin America 2016
