Resumption of the economy
With more confidence and a better scenario for the economy, the industrial sector begins to prepare for increased consumption
Faced with the recovery of the economy and the increase of confidence, the industrial sector intensified the rhythm of production. More factories connected the engines in September and, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), this growth is beginning to spread: from 15 states surveyed, 10 increased production.
In the country's average, September's performance was positive. Factories all over Brazil, together, produced 2.6% more than the same month last year, and this was the best result in four years.
The data, which are from IBGE, were released on Wednesday (8). In practice, they suggest that when the industry increases its output, it makes a bet in the future. A company only manufactures more items if it believes it can sell all that material if it believes the economy will improve.
Carioca and Paraense industry
According to the IBGE, Pará (13.2%) and Rio de Janeiro (11.3%) recorded the most significant growth compared to September last year. The good performance of Para was influenced by the mining industry, mainly iron ore.
In Rio de Janeiro, results were determined by increased production of diesel oil, fuel oils, automotive gasoline, aviation kerosene, basic lubricating oils and gasoline for petrochemicals. The car and truck industry also boosted Rio's numbers.
