Industrial confidence reaches highest level since 2014

In September, indicator reached 88.2 points and reached 12 of the segments observed by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV)

The Industry Confidence grew in September to reach 88.2 points - this is the highest level since July 2014, when this indicator had recorded 88.8 points.The data are from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and were released on Wednesday (28).

According to the institution, compared to August, the confidence indicator increased by 2.1 points. Similar to a thermometer, the more it progresses, the greater optimism among entrepreneurs.

The improvement in confidence in the month reached 12 of the 19 segments observed by FGV. This movement was determined both by the advance of expectations for the increase in reviews of the current situation.

Between March and September, industry confidence gained 13.5 points.In September, the Expectations Index (EI) increased 2.5 points to 89.8 points, the highest since June 2014 (90.3 points). Already the Current Situation Index (ISA) increased 1.5 points to 86.7 points, the highest since January 2015 (88.4 points).

Optimism business

The indicator that measures the degree of optimism with the business trend for the next six months had the greatest contribution to the rise in the Expectations Index, up 5.3 points, which led the index to 88.9, the highest since December 2014 (91.0 points).

The level of use of installed capacity, which is how companies are using the productive potential, increased 0.9 percentage points compared to August and reached 74.7% - the highest since December 2015.
