According to the head of the Center for Tax and Customs Studies, tax auditor Claudemir Malaquia, "the result of the April collection was determined by the combination of two main factors. The first is the macroeconomic indicators whose trajectory points to a lesser dynamism of economic activity. The second major factor is related to tax offsets. When comparing the values of this year with the previous year, one can verify an increase of this modality of payment of the fiscal debits. Considering the result of the month as a whole, IRPJ and CSLL revenues contributed positively, a result brought about by the companies' profits in 2018. "
