Objective is to increase safety on Brazilian highways
The federal government authorized on Thursday (4/7) the appointment of 1,000 new civil servants to the Federal Highway Police (PRF). The objective is to increase safety on Brazilian highways. The measure was established by Decree No. 9899 , published in the Official Gazette (DOU) today.
The competition for the PRF was authorized in 2018 by Ordinance nº 236 . The total number of nominees will result from the sum of the 500 positions, already foreseen in the call for tender, with the exceptional provision of another 500 approved in the contest.
The power to authorize the appointment of candidates who exceed the limit of up to 25% of the original number of vacancies is the President of the Republic. The decree signed by President Jair Bolsonaro determines that the filling of positions will be conditioned by the existence of vacancies at the date of appointment and the budgetary conditions.
