Development
Resources will benefit actions in rural communities, integral education, sanitation, development and urban infrastructure, among others.
The Foreign Finance Commission (Cofiex) of the Ministry of Economy authorized on Tuesday (9/17), during its 137th meeting, in Brasilia, the elaboration of ten projects, totaling US $ 592.9 million, which will be financed by resources from international development agencies. Approval at Cofiex, coordinated by the Secretariat of International Economic Affairs, is the first step in obtaining external funding with the Union guarantee.
Projects were contemplated by the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for the Northeast, the states of Mato Grosso and São Paulo, and the municipalities of São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN), Juazeiro do Norte (CE), Cascavel (PR) , Iguatu (CE), Sao Caetano do Sul (SP), Palhoça (SC) and Teresina (PI). Resources will benefit climate resilience actions in rural communities; tax management modernization; structuring actions; sanitation, development and urban infrastructure; integral education; and sustainable coastal development.
The projects will be carried out with resources from international organizations such as the International Fund for the Development of Agriculture (IFAD), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the New Development Bank (NDB), the Bank. Latin American Development Fund (CAF) and the Silver Basin Development Fund (Fonplata).
