The executive secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Services Fernando Furlan, said on Tuesday during the launch of the 5th edition of Investment Opportunities Book in Brazil, the initiative supports the resumption of economic growth cycle. "Brazil wants to show that is so competitive in sports as in business. The Olympic Games are a great opportunity to show the world the investment opportunities in the country, "he said.
With systematic information on opportunities for foreign and domestic investors, the Guide presents 149 projects in the state and federal levels, totaling more than $ 47 billion. "The consolidation of information will help to disseminate and allow the investor to analyze the projects widely," Furlan said at the launch of the catalog, performed at an event at Casa Brazil in Rio.
The catalog highlights sectors such as power generation and transmission, roads, railways, ports and airports, telecommunications, urban mobility, construction, tourism, among others. Furlan said also that Brazil is going through a challenging economic times and that the fiscal tightening scenario also arises as limiting the traditional instruments to encourage the productive development.
In this sense, according to the executive secretary, the investment must have a leading role to return to growth and dynamism of the Brazilian productive sector. "Brazil is in a new development cycle, promoting a broad process of adjustment, in order to improve their competitiveness and productivity," he says.
According to Furlan, the catalog is the collective effort not only by MDIC, MRE, Apex and Sebrae, but also all the Economic Development Departments of State, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Planning, Ministry Tourism, Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation National Agency of Land Transport Regulatory Electricity Agency, the National Telecommunications Agency.
"The investment promotion activities are crucial to the strengthening of the national productive sector and can not be carried out in a spray form, but through the union of the entities that deal with the investment issue," he said.
