Resumption of growth
For minister, scenario shows the resumption of the Brazilian economy and the effectiveness of government actions
Cargo movement in ports, railways and airports in the country increased more than 5% in the accumulated period from January to September this year compared to the same period in 2016. The growth was 5.85% in the case of the port sector .
The movement of cargo in the air sector shows a positive result of 8%. Rail transport followed the trend and was up 5.47%. "Our actions have allowed us to leverage the growth of the transportation sector in Brazil," said Minister of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Maurício Quintella. According to him, the scenario shows the resumption of the Brazilian economy and the effectiveness of the shares of the portfolio.
Railways
The increase in the export of grains and minerals has boosted the upward trajectory in the railway sector, which already surpasses 2016. In the accumulated of the year, according to data from the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), the growth between January and September is 5.47% compared to the previous year. The value represents 398.4 million tons.
Airports
This area recorded an increase of 8% in the nine-month period of 2017 compared to 2016. Until September, figures from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) show that cargo handling was 997.8 thousand tons. In the third quarter, the increase was 8.9%. In the year, air cargo transport grew in 8 out of 9 months.
Ports
Public and private ports recorded a turnover of 279 million tons transported in the third semester, representing a rise of 6.59% over the same quarter last year. D and according to data from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq), the sector handled 800.5 million tons n the cumulative nine months.
Highways
Diesel fuel consumption is the main parameter that reflects the growth in the road sector. Since May of this year, consumption has grown in relation to 2016. The movement of vehicles on the roads granted is also an indicator for the sector. In the year, accumulated data showed a rise of 1.7% in relation to 2016.
Real Estate Management
The number of passengers (embarkation and disembarkation) at Brazilian airports between January and September 2017 was 152.06 million, representing a positive variation of 1.12% compared to 2016. In the third quarter, the increase registered was 3.94%. In 2017, passenger air transport presents five consecutive months of growth.
