Capgemini acquires SAP specialist Sonda Procwork’s facility in Santa Catarina Brazil

In an announcement Thursday, Capgemini Brazil reported that it has acquired Sonda Procwork’s facility in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Capgemini is one of the foremost firms globally in the provision of consulting, technology and outsourcing services. Capgemini said the acquisition would henceforth enable it deliver its business process outsourcing services to its global customers based in the region, that were being serviced by the Chilean firm.

The investment comes as one of Capgemini’s planned investments in Latin America that target expanding its presence in the region. The company reiterated the acquisition was in line with its Latin America strategy that seeks expansion and support for client needs. As such, the firm said it would seek to support client needs in support of worldwide finance operations through the provision of a variety of finance and accounting services from a number of global delivery nerves.

The deal will also see the company take in over 200 of Procwork’s employees and according to Capgemini; the employees will continue to support the finance and accounting, and the human resources outsourcing needs of its clients all over the world in addition to the Latin American region’s. According to David Poole, Capgemini vice president and head of Americas Business Process Outsourcing, the acquisition of the new Brazilian facility in addition to the founding of its other Latin American centers is representative of the company’s expansion strategy.

As such, it would continue to reinforce its global capabilities that currently carry potential for more than 2,000 seats in the Latin American region alone, said Poole. The company is currently leveraging its rare approach that makes use of business insight mechanisms and solutions, together with its deep know-how of the finance and accounting market to meet its clients’ needs, Poole added.

Furthermore, Pole said its international drive would be aided and bolstered by the company’s several multinational businesses that will enable it push forward with its quest for efficiencies and yield considerable cost savings for its clients’ businesses.

Sonda Procwork is a software developer, supplier and consultancy with some 1,800 consultants specializing in the integration of solutions developed by Germany's SAP. It serves over 500 clients throughout Brazil and the world. Sonda Procwork has operations in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul, as well as offices in Mexico and the United States, with plans to enter the Argentine market through an acquisition.
