Brazil signs deal to export products to India

Brazil should start exporting apples, eggs and day-old chicks to India. The agreement was reached after negotiations between the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Maggi, and its equivalent in the Indian ministry, Radha Mohan Singh.

With this agreement, Brazil makes room for the release of Brazilian exports of pork, which now depends only on final adjustments.

Although it was agreed that the Ministries of Agriculture of Brazil and India will create a working group to define priorities in agribusiness trade.

"The member countries of the Brics (acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) need to understand more and more, in order to prioritize the food trade," mused the minister. "The food is a guarantee of peace for our countries," he said.

The Indian minister said Maggi that his country wants to export to Brazil onions, grapes, rice, corn, soy and castor oil. The Brazilian minister promised to prioritize the request colleague.

Power generation in agribusiness

Maggi also met with the Minister of Processed Food Industry, Harsimrat Kaur Badal. She was particularly interested in the Brazilian experience in power generation by agribusiness companies.

In March 2017, Maggi should return to India at the invitation of Minister Badal to attend the World Processed Food Fair. She also asked that the minister take a mission of Brazilian businessmen. He asked Badal to visit Brazil.
