$60,000 Monster Raffle To Benefit Australian Grassroots Surfing

COOLANGATTA/QLD (1st October, 2014): Boardriders clubs across the country will reap the rewards from a Monster Raffle being run in conjunction with the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle.
The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is the biggest grassroots, boardriders event series in Australian surfing history with more than $120,000 in prize money and starts on October 4.
It will involve more than 100 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs in eight State qualifying rounds starting in October and culminate in a two-day, National Final for 20 clubs on the Australia Day Long Weekend on 24-25 January, 2015 at Cronulla in Sydney.
Running in conjunction with the National Series is a $60,000 Monster Raffle giveaway with one lucky ticket holder to drive away in a new Toyota RAV4 valued at over $55,000. Other prize packs will be provided by Milwaukee, Original Source, Nikon, Oakley, Boost Mobile and FCS.
Toyota Australia Divisional Manager, National Marketing, Brad Cramb, said Toyota is proud to be involved with this unique surfing event.
“Toyota has a long history of supporting community and sporting events, and the Boardriders Battle is a great way for amateur club members to take part in a national competition,” Mr Cramb said.
“The Toyota RAV4 being given away in the raffle is built to support active, outdoor lifestyles, and it’s the perfect vehicle to get you to the best surf in style and comfort.”
Last year over 75 clubs were involved in the Monster Raffle helping raise in excess of $35,000 for Australian boardriders clubs.
“The Monster Raffle is a Surfing Australia initiative that supports our community boardriders club network to raise important funds to help run their clubs,” said Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark.
“The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is all about building the capacity and profile of clubs Australia wide and the Monster Raffle program certainly supports this capacity-building goal. A big thanks to major sponsor Toyota and other Monster Raffle partners for bringing this initiative to life.”
Tickets are $5.00 each (open to public) with proceeds going back to the grassroots Australian boardriders clubs of your choice.
All Surfing Australia affiliated boardriders clubs can register to be a part of the Monster Raffle (whether they are participating in the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle or not).
