According to Salim Mattar, the goal is to reach US $ 20 billion, with US $ 12.9 billion already realized
Salim Mattar, the special secretary for the Privatization, Dissemination and Markets of the Ministry of Economy, presented on Thursday (27/6), in São Paulo, to investors and businessmen the functioning of the secretariat and the accomplishments in the area this year.
According to Mattar, of the US $ 20 billion target for de-privatizations for 2019, US $ 12.9 billion have already been made. "We believe we will exceed this goal by the end of the year," he said.
The secretary recalled that one of his missions to the federal government is to reduce the size of the state and reorder its role in the economy. "We want to put Brazil on the track and, following the direction of the minister Paulo Guedes, transform the country into an open society and the road to prosperity," he said.
In the morning, the secretary spoke to former students at major American universities, such as Columbia and Harvard. In the afternoon, Mattar made a presentation at the 21st International Meeting on Investor Relations and Capital Markets. Earlier in the evening, he spoke at Brazil Day 2019.
