Petrobras reduces price of petrol and diesel

From midnight on Saturday (15), the price of diesel at the Petrobras refineries will be reduced by 2.7% and the value of gasoline, 3.2%. These reductions are part of the new pricing policy, announced on Friday (14) by the state.

According to Petrobras, the Brazilian law guarantees freedom of prices in the fuel market and derivatives, and therefore the reduction in refineries may or may not be reflected in the final price to consumers.

In a statement, the company states that the actual drop in fuel value will depend on transfers made by distributors and gas stations. If the adjustment is made fully passed, the diesel may fall 1.8% or about R $ 0.05 per liter, and gasoline by 1.4% or R $ 0.05 per liter.

According to the company, this new pricing policy will take into consideration two factors: parity with the international market - which includes costs such as freight ships, internal transport costs and port charges - plus a margin to remunerate risks such as, volatility of the exchange rate and prices.

Also according to Petrobras, the decision to reduce diesel and gasoline prices this time took into account the growth of imports and also the seasonality of the world oil market.

The new policy also provides for monthly assessments to review fuel prices at refineries. As the value of diesel and gasoline will follow the international market trend, Petrobras informs that there may be maintenance, reduction or increase in the prices.

The need for new adjustments to the amounts of fuel at Petrobras refineries will be taken from now, the Executive Group Markets and Prices, formed by the president, the director of Refining and Natural Gas and the Chief Financial Officer and Relations investors.
