subsalt extraction accounted for 43% of total production
Brazil produced, in October, 3.306 million oil equivalent barrels per day of oil and natural gas, according to report of the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP) .
Oil production was approximately 2.624 million barrels per day, down 1.8% compared to the previous month and increased 9.0% compared to the same month 2015.
Already the natural gas production totaled 108.5 million cubic meters per day, down 1.8% from the previous month and an increase of 11.2% compared to October last year.
The drop in oil and gas over the previous month was due to maintenance stoppages in some platforms, particularly the FPSO Cidade Angra dos Reis, in the Lula field.
Subsalt
Extracting the subsalt, coming from 66 wells was approximately 1.145 million barrels of oil per day and 44.4 million cubic meters per day of natural gas. The total was about 1.424 million oil equivalent barrels per day, down 2.7% from the previous month.
The production of pre-salt accounted for 43% of total production in Brazil. The wells of the "pre-salt" are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt fields located in the area defined in section IV of the caput of art. 2 of Law No. 12,351, 2010.
Flaring
The natural gas utilization in the month reached 96.6%. The gas flaring in October was 3.7 million cubic meters per day, an increase of 4.1% compared to the previous month and decreased 9.6% compared to the same month in 2015.
producing fields
The offshore fields produced 94.7% oil and 77.1% of natural gas. The production took place in 8,681 wells, 752 sea and land 7,846. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 93.3% of the oil and natural gas.
The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, producing on average 629,500 bbl / d of oil and 27.5 million cubic meters / day of natural gas.
Strait, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,110.Marlim field in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 57.
The FPSO City Itaguaí producing the Lula field produced through 5 wells connected to it, 186,900 BOE / UPE was of (Production Stationary Unit) with greater production.
Land mature basins (fields / long-term testing of the basins of Espirito Santo, Potiguar, Reconcavo, Sergipe and Alagoas) produced 146,900 boe / d and 119,700 bbl / d of oil and 4.3 million m³ / d of natural gas. Of this total, 142.1 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 4,800 boe / d by grants not operated by Petrobras, with 371 boe / d in Alagoas, 1,849 boe / d in Bahia, 53 boe / d in the Holy Spirit, 2,302 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 263 boe / d in Sergipe.
