Beginning of the data collection was defined in a meeting of the secretary Marcos Troyjo with the chief economist of the institution

The Special Secretary for Foreign Trade and International Affairs (Secint) of the Ministry of Economy, Marcos Troyjo, received in audience on Tuesday (11/6) the chief economist of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for Brazil , Jens Arnold. On the agenda, the next OECD Economic Report on Brazil , due to be published in 2020. 

Throughout 2019, the collection of data for analysis will accompany the process of reforms made by the Federal Government and will be evaluated the policies to support the structural transformation of the Brazilian economy. The work should contemplate topics such as training and qualification policies, labor market and considerations directed to the implementation of the reforms. 

The OECD conducts economic reports on Brazil biennially since 2003. In its 2018 edition , the document presented the usual chapter on assessments and recommendations, including a macroeconomic overview and a summary of the main recommendations developed in the report, as well as two thematic chapters : one on strengthening investment and improving infrastructure, the other on promoting Brazil's integration into the world economy. 

Analysis process

Held in interaction with the Brazilian government, the preparation of the document is coordinated by the Ministry of Economy, and there are two missions of the OECD Secretariat to Brazil during the process. The first will be a technical mission, with the purpose of obtaining information from different public agencies regarding the topics addressed. 

In the political mission, the discussion will focus on the recommendations to the Brazilian government to be presented in the report. The OECD Economic and Development Evaluation Committee (EDRC) will then discuss the draft when the country delegation meets with questions and comments from member countries on the recommendations and topics developed. 

The report is published after discussion in plenary and approval by OECD countries.
