The House
Different aspects make Sala São Paulo a true cultural heritage, starting with acoustic quality. The São Paulo Room was equipped with the most modern technologies, among them a retractable ceiling. It is made up of movable boards that can be lowered or raised to adjust the sound quality, according to the type of music being played.
The history and construction also deserve highlights. Its architectural sumptuousness is a reflection of the golden age of the São Paulo coffee economy. Completely restored and inaugurated as a concert hall in 1999, the building is older in the 1930s. The São Paulo Room is located on the premises of the former station of the Sorocabana Railroad, a Louis XVI style building.
Accessibility
Since March, Sala São Paulo has become even more accessible. The space started to count on new resources so that people with visual disabilities can learn about the history of space through audiodescriptive information and also through tactile experiences. Visitation is free and entitles a chaperone.
