India will be the first emerging country to open vacancies at the local universities for Brazilian scholars

Brazil and India should sign an agreement for cooperation in the sphere of the Science without Borders program, which funds scholarships for Brazilian students in foreign institutions of higher education. The partnership should be formalized in the visit that President Dilma Rousseff will make to India, on the 29, to participate in the fourth meeting of Heads of State of the Brics, acronym that identifies the emerging countries block formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

"In the case of India, this is the first time that we will implement the program with a developing country - and a country from the Brics. We have already expanded the discussions and identified institutions that should participate in the program, which are in the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore," said the General Undersecretary of Policies of Itamaraty, Ambassador Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis.
