Minister of Planning, Development and Management, Dyogo Oliveira, stressed that the federal government will meet the primary deficit target
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Management announced on Friday (22) the release of R $ 12.8 billion in this year's Federal Budget. The amounts were contingent and will be unblocked by decree next week.
As a result, this year's expenditure contingency fell from R $ 45 billion to R $ 32.2 billion. Faced with the resumption of the economy, spending control is important so that the federal government can meet the primary result target - savings to pay interest on public debt - , fixed at a deficit of R $ 159 billion.
The data are included in the Quarterly Revenue and Expenditure Assessment Report, a document released every two months that serves to monitor the behavior of public accounts.
"I would say that the report presented today retains several elements of safety margin that allow us to go until the end of the year without jeopardizing the fiscal target," Planning Minister Dyogo Oliveira told a news conference.
Highlights
Despite the resumption of the economy, revenue collection is still recovering. Therefore, it is necessary to cut spending to meet the fiscal target, which is a guarantee to investors who lend money to the federal government that will be paid in the future.
To meet this goal, the federal government has an estimated revenue of R $ 8.84 billion with the program of refinancing of tax debts, Refis, infrastructure auctions and the program of repatriation of resources, among other sources of resources.
