The President Dilma Rousseff travels next week to New Delhi, India, where she will participate, on the 29, in the fourth meeting of the block that gathers Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – Brics. Discussions should be dominated by financial and economic debates, in addition to peace and security policies, as well as the joint efforts for sustainable development, one of the pillars for poverty reduction.

Along with Dilma, the Presidents Dmitri Medvedev (Russia), Hu Jintao (China), Jacob Zuma (South Africa) and the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh will also participate. Conversations occur in a moment of uncertainty, due to the international economic crisis that still has impact in Europe and the United States.

At the meetings, political leaders want to consolidate the decision to transform the Brics in a reference to the international political and economic scenario. The idea is to expand internal and external trade relations by encouraging the expansion of export and import markets. The President and her Ministers are accompanied by 60 business executives from the private sector.
