CQUniversity Oral Health students recently visited Mt Morgan Library to conduct a storytelling session around oral health for pre-school children.
Bachelor of Oral Health students, Amy Woodfield and Erin Page, travelled to the town with Associate Professor Leonie Short.
They conducted the storytelling in conjunction with the librarian, Ann-Maree Dyer.
"What the students did not realise is that Monday was the opening day for the new library," Assoc Prof Short said.
"The local councillor, Ms Rose Swadling, was due to conduct the official opening at 11am. As there was a bushfire in Mt Morgan, the town had a helicopter flying overhead and many emergency services personnel and fire trucks were also busy travelling to fight the fire.
“Amy and Erin were very impressed with the modern library facilities – books, DVDs, toys and games are all available to borrow.
“Amy and Erin were pleased to travel to Mt Morgan to promote oral health and conduct oral health education lessons at the Mt Morgan library.”
