The two forces will open public calls in the amount of R $ 2 million in Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul and Rondônia

Institutions and groups of the Brazilian Army and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) will launch five public calls for the purchase of family agriculture products in Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul and Rondônia, through the Institutional Purchase of the Food Acquisition (PAA). In total, the two forces will invest more than $ 2 million in local smallholder products.

In Institutional Purchasing, family farmers commercialize products in a simplified way, which strengthens family farming and promotes the population's access to quality food. The buying agencies, in turn, have the opportunity to receive typical products of the region, fresh and diversified, collaborating with the local development.

Agrarian reform organizations, farmers, fish farmers, extractivists, artisanal fisherfolk, indigenous people and members of remaining communities of rural quilombos and other traditional peoples with a Pronaf Aptitude Statement (DAP) can participate in the public calls.

Pernambuco

Two calls are open in the status. The first is from the Support Group of Recife (PE), which will invest R $ 734 thousand in the purchase of products to ensure the feeding of children and youth of the Forces in Sport Program. The initiative offers sports activities and school reinforcement. Interested in the sale of products can send the proposals until this Monday (18).

The second call was opened by the Army, through the Tenth General Abreu and Lima Combat Engineering Company, in São Bento do Una, in the interior of Pernambuco. The investment in small farmers' products will be R $ 591 thousand. Proposals can be sent by Wednesday (20).

Rondônia

The Military Command of the Sixth Jungle Infantry Battalion will buy fruits, vegetables, eggs and cheese, with the investment of R $ 248 thousand. Interested parties can submit proposals by Monday (18).

Rio Grande do Sul

The call was opened by the Aeronautics Support Group of Santa Maria (RS). This is the first time that the group makes a direct purchase of the farmers. In total, the unit will invest R $ 355 thousand. The products will serve one thousand military men and young men from Forces in Sport. Interested parties can send the proposals until next Thursday (21).

Mato Grosso do Sul

The Military College of Campo Grande (MS), of the Brazilian Army, is also selecting family farmers to supply fruits, vegetables, breads and cakes. The estimated investment is R $ 147 thousand. Interested parties can submit proposals for sale by September 25.
