In a ceremony in the Planalto Palace, authorities reinforce commitment to promote growth and reduce the state

On Thursday, the government completed the 200-day mark of President Jair Bolsonaro's administration reaffirming its commitment to promoting economic growth by reducing the size of the state. In a ceremony in the Planalto Palace, measures already implemented by the federal government were highlighted in this period and several normative acts were signed.

Among these acts, within the scope of the Ministry of Economy, is the decree that extends the criteria required for the occupation of positions and functions commissioned to any direct, autarchic and foundational administration. In practice, the measure extends principles such as moral goodwill and unblemished reputation - provided in the Law of the Clean Sheet - professional profile or academic formation for the occupation of positions of trust in the government as of August 1. These criteria were required by the Federal Executive Branch from decree 9.727, of March of this year, in order to guarantee greater professionalisation to public management.

The decree establishing the Brazil Preparatory Council for membership of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) was signed, and the Brazilian government initiated the process of accession in June 2017.

Another measure announced today was the signature of the Provisional Measure that grants to the Public Defender of the Union (DPU) term so that it can maintain the current list of requested servers of other organs of the direct, autarchic and foundational federal administration.
